Growing up!

Last Monday the 18th Adalyn got to take her first ride in her new toddler FORWARD FACING car seat. At almost 17 months Adalyn finally reached the 20 lb mark!! I was off that day so we were headed to Chef's Inn to have lunch with daddy. The big lunch tuckered her out and she couldn't keep her little head up during the ride home.

Terrible Teething

I'm not sure if anyone reads my blog anymore but I wanted to get all the mom's thoughts on this one. I realized last night that Adalyn is in the process of cutting her first molars on the top of her mouth. The problem is that these will be the first two teeth she has on the top, and they are way back...definately her big jaw teeth. They are far enough back that it won't look like fangs, but will still look strange when she opens her mouth. Have any of you experienced this with your little ones?

one year ago today...

One year ago this evening we went to eat at Cracker Barrell with my mom and dad since I couldn't have anything to drink after midnight. This is a picture of us afterwards when we were about to head home--don't I look excited :-) I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 6 am the next morning to have my labor induced.
At home that night I realized I still had lots to do and not enough time. I wearily finished up packing random things I hadn't thought of before...decided the bird cage must be cleaned THAT night...and on and on it went.

I need Chandler to do a post here as well cause I know he worked on a few off the wall things that I can't remember now. Anywho, I stayed up way too late but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep and I didn't.

The next morning you can see that my mood hadn't improved and you can see how my dad was feeling. I think Chandler was just as nervous as me. He went the wrong way to the hospital, got lost in the parking deck and told the check in nurse he was a "freshman" when asked if he was a junior or senior.

We finally made it in and I got all set up to begin the waiting game...again, can't you see how excited I am...This is my I'm nervous as heck smile.

More to come tomorrow!

Adalyn's First Camping Trip

We're home today feeling under the weather so I though I'd post an update on Adalyn's first camping trip. We took a trip to Blanchard Caverns a few weeks ago with Jason, Nikki and Carter. We had a great time and got some great pictures.

I've been tagged!!

Randi tagged me to complete this task...

1. go to your documents/pictures

2. go to your 5th file

3. go to your 5th picture

4. blog about it

5. tag 5 people

Well, here it is--
This is my attempt to photograph a putt putt golf score card! Chandler and I were in Branson for our anniversary a few years ago and I actually won so I needed to have proof. I did actually take another picture that shows the final score and isn't so blurry, but this was #5.

I tag Julie, Courtney, Amanda, Andrea and Lori!

Smile!!

I hope this picture makes you laugh as much as Chandler and I have laughed about it. We were trying to capture a picture of the bad hair day she was having. Instead we got this!
Here is a better shot of her Kramer hair.

Meet the twins!!!

These are Adalyn's cousins and they were born 10 days after her, so this post is long overdue. The first picture is a day we went to meet them while I was still on maternity leave. Harrison is the little boy in the picture and when he saw Adalyn laying on the couch he said "Wow! She's a big one!" Too cute...you never know what kids will say and she did look bigger compared to the twins. They are beautiful healthy little girls--Susannah Belle and Jacqueline Elaine.

We spent the day visiting and eventually went for a walk. We had all three babies lined up in strollers and at one point all three babies were crying. I have a video of this that I'd like to post but I'll have to save that for another day. I tried taking pictures of them all, but at least 1 of the 3 was crying every time I tried. Plus, one month old babies don't pose!

RIP Sweety

I don't remember the date but one of my cockatiels died a few weeks before Christmas. This was the bird that was the less grouchy out of the two and would actually "sing" and whistle to us. We were trying to get rid of the birds (still have one if anyone is interested), but it was still sad.

I'm waaaay behind--here are Halloween pictures!!

We didn't do much for Halloween this year. We went to a fall festival at my brother and sister in law's church then went to Gigi and Pop's house. It has hard to find a costume for a 2 month old baby--everything was huge on her. She had a pumpkin costume, but I think this pumpkin onesie and hat from Aunt Randi and Uncle Travis was just too cute.

I never knew...

I never knew how painful shots could be until this afternoon when I watched my baby girl get her first shots (one in each leg). It's crazy how something could hurt me so much when I didn't even get a stick! The bad thing is that they were out of one of the vaccines so I have to call during November and take her back once they get more in. I think Dad may get stuck with that job.

Count Down

The count down to my return to work has really kicked into high gear. I only have about a day and a half before the big day. I'm very thankful to my friends Lori Cheatham, Joslyn Johnson and my mother in law Ruth for watching her until we get a spot in the daycare. I think starting out with friends rathter than daycare will actually make the transition back into the real world a little easier. If you see me Thursday and I seem a little weird--you know what the problem is. I'm hoping I can at least make it through the day at work with no tears and I'm sure Lori is already expecting to hear from me at least a few times throughout that first day :-)

I did call the daycare yesterday and she is at the top of the waiting list. I know this is a good daycare but I can't help but having images of her laying in a crib for hours at a time--only getting attention when she cries!! I'm sure this will change once we get her in and start interacting with the staff on a daily basis. Luckily for me (unlucky for daddy) he will be dropping her off most days as I have to leave earlier than he does.

I got a new camera over the weekend--check out the big smiles I caught while taking my first few pictures with it!

Camera troubles

We got about 200 (not kidding) pictures developed earlier this week. Apparently, my 10 megapixel digital camera is excellent at taking pictures of adults who sit still, but not so good at taking pictures of squirmy babies. I'm on a mission to convince my husband that I need a new camera to capture all these adorable pictures we're missing now :-)

Any info anyone can provide would be great--I don't need to completely break the bank, but I do want something that is quick!

New doo's at the treadway house--MOHAWKS for dad and daughter :-)

So, today I was going to give Chandler a haircut. He was going to "get things ready" while I finished up something in the dining room. I should have known it was taking too long and he was being too quiet. A few minutes later he comes trotting out with a mohawk so he posed for some pics--he knew I'd have to post it on the blog!

Don't worry--he's back to normal now, but it reminded me of some pictures I took Adalyn a few days ago. Somehow the mohawk looked much better on her :-)

1 month appointment

Adalyn had her 1 month appointment today. She weighs 8'13"!!

She has been a little fussy lately and it seems like any time she is awake she is crying, so I don't have any new good pictures. I'm posting a picture that our friend Clint took back on the 10th.

Hanging out with dad!
Getting ready for our first walk around the neighborhood
Bed time!

Bath time!!

We gave Adalyn her first bath in her new froggy bath tub last night. We umbilical cord stump finally fell off so we thought we would give it a try. As you can see from the pictures she wasn't too excited about the big event.

Follow up

I had my follow up with Dr. Edwards today--he released me to drive and lift things heavier than the baby!! Even though I haven't driven anywhere yet it is definately nice to know that I can.

Chandler has one more day of work and will be off for his second week of leave starting Wednesday.

Pictures

Adalyn has been added to the St. Bernards website. I just wanted to remind everyone that it will be under Sharon T.--gotta love going by your middle name! Chandler is the videographer and I'm the photographer.
We are doing good. She seems to have her days and nights mixed up. We thank everyone for the calls and visits!!
